Luftraum

Song Story:

Gold and other standards that covered currencies were no longer valid due to objective economic laws. However, world economic thought could not easily shake off the unified thinking and continued to link monetary policy to various hypothetical dependencies on ownership of deposited real goods. There were inscriptions on the various banknotes reading that they were secured and had guaranteed value. After World War I, people quite pragmatically noticed how false the value of the currencies’ guarantees had been. Political turmoil directly affected the market price of various banknotes.

The Reichsmark from the time of the Third Reich is one of the last currencies that the Central Bank of Germany attempted to guarantee with something real. Hitler’s economic dogma dictated that it would be guaranteed with land. Thus, the Reich justified its economic rise with the need to conquer new territories which were the only “secured resource” that could ensure an increase in cash flows. This untenable economic doctrine went much deeper into the causes of World War II than historical analyses point out.

Song Lyrics:

The need for living space
Prosperity, Decay
Hunger for new lands
Survive and obey
Bank prints new funds
Secured with land
People starving stunned
On the army in command

Volk ohne Raum! Lebensraum!
Volk ohne Raum! Lebensraum!
Volk ohne Raum! Lebensraum!
So that the bank to print the cash
and to ensure height or clash…

Peasants settle on frontline
Civilization fortified
New territories they provide
Even soldiers – colonized
Yearning for Eastern ground
New goods gained by command
Destruction, turmoil on the border
The bank creates new order

Volk ohne Raum! Lebensraum!
Volk ohne Raum! Lebensraum!
Volk ohne Raum! Lebensraum!
So that the bank to print the cash
and to ensure height or clash…

They don’t need new home
After the army they roam
Who conquers living space
To Europe now gives lands
Bank ensures the system
Gold is non-persistent
Empty crippling march
The fall of the Reich
